Are you a seasoned structural engineer with a strong background in R&D and fabrication with a passion for bringing smiles to faces? We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer with proven expertise in full life-cycle structural design and development. This is a pivotal role in both our R&D and fabrication departments, where your work will drive innovation and ensure that our projects exceed the highest safety and design standards. Key Responsibilities:
● Perform advanced catenary analysis for zip line projects, calculating clearances and tensions to produce detailed reports and signed drawings.
● Design structural systems using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, ensuring robust and unified models based on forces from cables, wind, geotech, and other variables.
● Collaborate across teams to integrate mechanical and structural design, promoting creative thinking that enhances team knowledge and innovation.
● Develop comprehensive foundation designs and produce structural packages for various projects.
● Provide mentorship on GD&T principles, guiding teams from conceptual design to final fabrication.
● Lead quality control efforts, ensuring structural integrity in the fabrication of steel, wood, and composite structures.
● Use MathCAD or similar tools for structural load calculations, creating standards and procedures for ongoing projects.
● Manage external engineering teams and provide field support, adjusting designs for topography or project-specific needs.
● Serve as a critical member of the R&D team, contributing to product development and overseeing the design-to-production lifecycle.
● Ensure compliance with ISO/ASTM standards and drive continuous improvement in safety and quality.
Qualifications:
● Expertise in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for structural design, including simulation and stress analysis.
● Experience in advanced manufacturing methods such as welding, stamping, laser cutting, and waterjet cutting.
● Strong project management abilities with a history of leading multiple projects to completion under tight timelines.
● Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Tennessee or eligibility to obtain PE certification.
● Familiarity with ASTM F24 Amusement Guidelines and ISO/CE QA standards.
● Advanced fabrication skills, including welding and machining, with knowledge of CNC controls.
